I’m Alison — an Inverness-based wedding photographer who loves telling the real story of your wedding day. With over a decade of experience shooting weddings, elopements and engagement sessions across the Highlands, my approach is warm, natural and quietly documentary. I aim to keep things fun and unforced so you can enjoy the day while I capture the laughter, breathless moments and everything in between. Why choose me? I’m a Highlander by birth and a photographer by trade. Returning to the Highlands after working across Glasgow, Dublin and Derby gave me a deep familiarity with our dramatic coastlines, lochs and hills — from Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye to Torridon and Caithness — and I love using those landscapes to frame honest, atmospheric images. My years as a staff photographer for the Highland News Group taught me to see the story in a single frame, and I bring that editorial eye to every wedding I shoot. My style is relaxed, people-first photography. I pride myself on helping couples feel at ease, whether that means a cosy ceremony in a local venue, a wild hilltop elopement or a golden-hour portrait on remote coastline. I believe in giving you a little private time on the day — a calm moment to breathe and be newlyweds — which often creates some of the most beautiful, authentic photographs. How we work: we start with a chat about your plans and what matters most to you. On the day I blend into the celebration to capture candid moments and step forward gently for portraits when it feels right. After the wedding you’ll receive a private online gallery and the option to commission bespoke, hand-made wedding albums produced in the UK — a tangible way to tell your day’s story. I also offer engagement shoots to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera before the big day, and I’m happy to photograph elopements of any size and style across Scotland.
