Hi — I’m Rachael, the photographer behind Roots and Rays Photography, based in East Kilbride just south of Glasgow. I specialise in wedding photography and love capturing the honest, joyful moments that make each wedding unique. On the day I work calmly and confidently, offering simple direction when needed but mostly letting the natural interactions shine through. The result is a gallery of images that feel authentic, elegant and full of life. I also photograph engagement and elopement sessions that complement my wedding coverage, helping couples feel at ease with being photographed and creating beautiful images for announcements or keepsakes. Based in East Kilbride, I regularly cover Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas — I love working across Scotland and bringing a relaxed, personal touch to each celebration. Running Roots and Rays is my dream job — I found my way into photography after a life rethink in 2020, and nothing makes me happier than preserving moments couples will look back on for decades.
