Hi — I'm Gavin Dougan, an award‑winning wedding photographer based in Bonnyrigg working across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Glasgow. Wedding photography is my primary focus: I believe the best images come from a relaxed, unobtrusive approach that lets people be themselves. Over 17 years I’ve developed a mix of contemporary and classic styles so each couple gets a set of photographs tailored to their day — honest, joyful and made to be cherished. My philosophy centres on capturing real moments rather than staging endless poses. I favour a reportage approach that records the flow of your wedding: the quiet preparation, the laughter, the small details and the fleeting expressions that tell your story. I’ll still make time for those striking bride-and-groom portraits, but I prefer to work with the natural rhythm of the day so you spend less time posing and more time enjoying your wedding. From our first conversation I aim to make the planning straightforward and personal. We’ll meet to discuss your vision — at home, at your venue or by phone — and agree how best to capture the day. Optional pre-wedding shoots are available to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera and to see how I work. On the day you’ll get a professional but relaxed presence: attentive to light, timing and relationship dynamics, and experienced at making guests feel at ease. Deliverables are created with care. High‑resolution images are supplied digitally on a personalised USB folio, and for couples wanting a tangible heirloom I offer handmade, photographically printed albums and bespoke folio boxes. My background in photographic printing and archival digitisation informs how I work — from capture to final presentation — so colours, tones and print quality are all considered. While weddings are my specialism, I also offer portrait and event coverage as complementary services.
