Hi — I’m Ben Millar Cole. Based in Barrhead and working across Scotland (and beyond), I specialise in wedding photography: from intimate elopements and micro-weddings to full destination celebrations. After 17 years working across fashion campaigns, music videos, film stills and documentary projects, I bring an editorial eye and documentary sensitivity to every wedding I photograph. Why choose me? I don’t do stiff, formal direction — I prefer to create a calm atmosphere where real moments can happen. That means a lot of listening: finding out what matters to you, offering planning advice when wanted, and sharing supplier recommendations I’ve learned over the years. Many couples value the pre-wedding chats (and shoots) because they make the day feel familiar and easy when the cameras are rolling. On the day I usually work alone — it keeps things unobtrusive — but for larger weddings I bring trusted second shooters so nothing important is missed. My experience across both documentary and editorial work helps me anticipate light and emotion, moving quickly to capture tiny, unscripted moments as well as composed portraits that feel natural. I love photographing Scottish landscapes and quirky city venues alike. Whether we’re stealing ten minutes on a windswept hilltop or wandering a sandstone street, I look for imperfect, beautiful places to make images that feel timeless and personal. While weddings are my primary focus, I also shoot portrait sessions occasionally — always with the same relaxed, editorial sensibility.
