Hi — I’m Chris, the photographer behind Rowan Berry Pictures. Based in Alloa and regularly photographing weddings across Scotland (and beyond), I specialise in documentary-style wedding photography. After more than a decade and hundreds of celebrations, my focus remains the same: being close enough to the story to feel it, while staying unobtrusive enough that your day unfolds naturally. My work is driven by connection. I look for the small, in-between moments that reveal how people really feel — the laughter, the silly gestures, the quiet looks — and I aim to turn those into pictures that bring you right back to the emotion of the day. I spend most of the wedding blending in; by hiding in plain sight I can be near the action without getting in the way. That means authentic, immediate photos with a strong sense of presence and atmosphere. I know every couple wants something different, so alongside my candid approach I’m comfortable working directly with you when you want a few relaxed portraits. My signature is an easy, conversational style that helps people feel at ease in front of the camera — perfect for those treasured couple shots and the family photos that matter so much. Working with me is straightforward and friendly. I like to start with a proper conversation so I understand what matters to you, then stay flexible on the day to capture what actually happens. My aim is to create an environment where you can enjoy your wedding without worrying about the photography — you’ll just notice that I’m there when the moments happen. Photography has been my passion since I discovered it while travelling in 2003. I left a career in IT to pursue it and have been photographing weddings since 2008 — a choice I still love. When I’m not at a wedding I’m usually outside with a camera, exploring new landscapes and keeping that photo-hungry curiosity alive.
