Hi, I’m Mark Barnes — a multi-award winning wedding photographer based in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. Wedding photography is not just my job, it’s the thing that gets me out of bed in the morning. With more than 20 years behind the camera and 850+ weddings photographed across the UK, Ireland and beyond, I specialise in telling genuine wedding stories that stand the test of time. Why choose me? Whether it’s the small, unnoticed glances during the ceremony or the full-on craic on the dance floor, my aim is the same: deliver professional wedding photos that make you laugh, cry and remember. How I work with couples: I build rapport early, because it matters that you feel relaxed with your photographer on the day. I’m happy to meet in person when possible, or we’ll chat on Zoom or FaceTime to get to know one another. From those first conversations through to couple portraits and family shots, my focus is on making your day feel natural and enjoyable. I guide you gently when needed but otherwise let the moments unfold so your images feel honest and unforced. Engagement photography and preparation: I also offer engagement shoots to help you feel comfortable in front of the lens before the big day. These sessions are relaxed, fun and a great way to get to know how I work — they often become a favourite part of the story for many couples. A little about me: I’m proud to be part of the Northern Ireland wedding community, former President of PPANI, husband to Danielle and father to two lively girls.
