Hello — I’m Tony, the photographer behind docuwedding, based in Perry Vale, South London. I specialise in documentary wedding photography: a photojournalistic, fine‑art approach that prioritises real moments and authentic emotion over posed, formulaic images. My work is for couples who want their day recorded as a story — honest, human and visually timeless. Why choose docuwedding? My background as a press photographer taught me to read rhythm, light and emotion. I bring that experience to weddings, working mostly in an observational reportage style so I can blend into the background and capture moments as they unfold. My goal on the day is simple: to be unobtrusive, reliable and alert to those small, truthful gestures that make your wedding unique. Many clients comment on how guests hardly noticed I was there — and yet every important moment is in the photographs. My approach is deliberately balanced. I shoot about 90% observational reportage, starting well before the ceremony and staying through to the first dance when required. I also photograph a small selection of relaxed family group shots and recommend around 15 minutes for portraits of the two of you — natural, straightforward images that fit seamlessly into the story of your day. I won’t stage awkward poses; my portraits are calm, timeless and designed to sit comfortably alongside the documentary images. Working with couples is collaborative and low‑stress. I listen to your plans, learn the parts of the day that matter most, and adapt to the pace and personality of your celebration. I’m based in Perry Vale but photograph weddings across the UK and abroad — whether a small registry wedding or a multi-day celebration, I bring the same careful attention and experience. Post‑production and presentation matter to me. I edit each image with care to ensure consistent colour, tone and a mix of colour and black & white that enhances the narrative. Clients receive their images via a password‑protected online gallery and can choose from a range of fine wedding albums and prints if they wish. If you’re looking for documentary, unobtrusive wedding photography with a fine‑art sensibility from a Perry Vale‑based photojournalist, I’d love to hear about your day.
