I’m Jan — a wedding photographer with more than two decades of experience capturing real wedding days across the UK. Based in Norris Green and recently returning to the North West, my work is rooted in a contemporary documentary approach: I blend informal reportage with gentle, classical portraits so your album is full of honest, emotive moments as well as timeless couple images. Over the years I’ve earned licentiate qualifications from the Master Photographers Association, the British Institute of Professional Photographers and the Guild of Photographers, and I’ve been recognised with awards for documentary wedding photography. But more than titles, couples tell me they choose me because I listen. From our first chat I focus on understanding the memories you want to keep — then I quietly get on with crafting them. My style is intentionally unobtrusive. I aim to be part of the day without getting in the way: blending into the background during the ceremony, working quickly and efficiently for formal family pictures, and stepping up for authentic moments as they happen. For camera-shy couples I use a friendly, conversational approach to create ease and natural reactions rather than stiff poses. Many clients appreciate that I don’t hard-sell — you’ll get a relaxed pre-wedding consultation, a clear plan for the day and an honest, pressure-free experience afterwards. I’m comfortable with a wide variety of celebrations — from intimate micro-weddings to full-day parties and even destination days. Practical touches I bring to every wedding include pre-wedding planning, an optional engagement or pre-wedding shoot to familiarise us, and the offer to attend rehearsals where possible so the ceremony runs smoothly. After the day your images are carefully edited and presented in a secure online gallery for easy viewing and ordering. While wedding photography is my speciality, I also run studio portrait and pet sessions and occasional training workshops for emerging wedding photographers.
