Jenny Macaré is a specialist wedding photographer based in Long Eaton, working across Derbyshire, the Peak District and the East Midlands. I believe wedding photography should reflect how your day actually felt — relaxed, joyful and unmistakably you. With a documentary-led, people-first approach I look for unscripted moments, honest emotion and beautiful light, creating images that become the memory you return to again and again. Why choose me? I’ve been a full-time wedding photographer since 2012 and my background (BA Hons in Photography and experience on London picture desks) taught me how to notice the small, telling details that stitch a day together. Empathy and experience mean I pre-empt moments: knowing when to step close, when to blend into the crowd, and when to find a quiet space for a couple to breathe. My presence is low-key, calm and positive — I’m there to relax and reassure you, not to stage or over-pose. My approach is rooted in documentary and street-style storytelling, with a love for wild places, rustic farm tipis, DIY celebrations and intimate micro-weddings. I prioritise connection: getting a feel for your plans, timelines and the people who matter to you so the day flows and the images feel authentic. I stop group photos from taking over, work quickly and efficiently, and always look for the light that makes a moment sing. How I work with you: from our first chat I aim to be a helpful, practical resource — sharing timeline tips, supplier suggestions and ways to carve out small pockets of time for meaningful photos. On the day I fit into the dynamic, read the silent cues and keep the vibe moving so you can enjoy your guests. After the wedding I craft a considered selection of images that tell the story of your day and transport you back to those emotions. Secondary services: alongside weddings I occasionally photograph portraits and engagement sessions to help you feel relaxed in front of the camera, and I offer creative photography for small businesses on request. I can also coordinate with or include highlight filming subject to availability — though my primary focus remains wedding photography.
