Hi — I’m Rachael, a documentary wedding photographer and filmmaker based in Lofthouse. I specialise in natural, relaxed wedding photography and storytelling highlight films, bringing a calm, adventurous energy to every wedding I cover. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement on a windswept moor or a joyful celebration with all your friends and family, my goal is the same: to capture the honest, in-between moments that make your day yours. My approach is documentary-led — think “prompts, not poses.” I blend into the day, keeping things fun and low-pressure so you can be present with your people while I quietly document the laughter, tears, and little details. When gentle direction is needed, I’ll step in to help you feel and look natural, but mostly I let your day unfold and photograph the story as it happens. Alongside photography I create handcrafted highlight films. These short films are woven from tiny moving moments across the day and edited to bespoke music composed by my other half, Connor Walsh — meaning your film will have its own unique soundtrack that matches the pace and emotion of your wedding. I live and work on the road in my motorhome, Moey, and that love of the outdoors informs the way I photograph — I’m happiest chasing golden hour on the coast or finding hidden woodland backdrops. I regularly travel across the UK (from the Lake District to Cornwall and Scotland) and have also documented a handful of destination weddings in Europe. I always come prepared: multiple cameras, backup kit, and an eye for the landscapes and details that make each wedding unique. I’m fully insured too, and happy to provide proof for venues. Working with me is collaborative and relaxed from the first hello. We’ll have an informal chat about your plans, and you can add a pre-wedding session if you’d like a practice run in front of the camera. On the day I’m unobtrusive, friendly, and focused on telling your story — then I deliver your photos and film in an easy-to-share online gallery so you can relive the day and share it with loved ones.
