Hi, I’m David — a documentary wedding photographer based in Kippax, close to Leeds. Weddings are my focus and my favourite kind of storytelling: fast-paced, honest and full of emotion. I aim to create relaxed, natural wedding photos that feel like you — not awkward poses, but real moments recorded as they happen. My approach is simple. I watch for the details, the small gestures and the spontaneous interactions that make each day unique. Over more than a decade working with couples I’ve learned how to blend into the background so you can enjoy your day while I capture it. Couples who tell me they’re camera-shy often become some of my favourite subjects — I use a gentle, conversational style to help people feel comfortable and enjoy the moment rather than perform for the camera. I love photographing weddings across Yorkshire and beyond. From rustic barns and restored mills to garden ceremonies and marquee celebrations, I seek out the light, texture and atmosphere that help build memorable images. The county’s variety of landscapes — from the Dales to historic estate houses — gives every wedding a different story to tell, and I work with whatever the day brings, whether golden-hour fields or intimate indoor light.
