I’m Michael of Ashdown Wedding Photography — a Hove-based wedding specialist who believes the best wedding photos come from being present, calm and invisible. My approach is documentary and reportage-led: I observe, anticipate and capture the genuine moments — the laughter, quiet glances, and in-between details that make each wedding unique. I don’t stage emotions or force poses; instead I aim to tell your day exactly as it happened, in colour and with a handful of carefully chosen black & white frames where they strengthen the story. How I work with couples: before the day we’ll have a relaxed chat so I understand your plans and the moments that matter most to you. On the wedding day I’m calm and steady — quietly documenting preparations, the ceremony, the small details and the big emotions. I’ll capture candid reportage shots throughout the day and will happily create any family or group images you want, keeping those brief and efficient so you can get back to celebrating. After the wedding you’ll receive a private, online gallery of fully edited images, curated to tell the story of your day. While weddings are my core focus, I also offer engagement shoots as a complementary option — a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and create images for save-the-date cards or guest books.
