I’m Gill Shaw — a Greenford-based wedding photographer (working from Hanwell in West London) with more than 20 years’ experience photographing people on their biggest days. My approach is simple: I am there to capture your wedding, not to control it. That means I blend into the background, keep things relaxed and look for the real, unposed moments that tell the story of your day. My specialism is wedding and engagement photography. I aim to deliver professional wedding photos that feel natural and timeless — images you and your family will treasure for generations. Whether it’s a candid exchange during the ceremony, the laughter at the reception or a quiet moment between the two of you, I work quickly and sensitively so you can enjoy your day while I record it. Many couples choose a complimentary pre-wedding (engagement) shoot to get comfortable in front of the camera and to plan the kind of bridal portraits they love. I bring an easy, conversational style to every shoot. I put people at ease by being myself: talking, joking and directing only when it helps. This lets personalities shine through and produces photographs that feel honest rather than staged. On the practical side you’ll find me prepared — Hasselblad and Nikon kit, back-up cameras, and the experience to adapt to changing light and weather — and happy to travel across the UK or internationally to capture your celebration. My work has included exhibitions and charity books alongside weddings, and I’m proud to be an Associate of the Master Photographers Association. Those projects have shaped my eye for detail and for photographing human stories — qualities I bring to every wedding commission.
