I’m Toby Roberts — a Grantham-based wedding photographer who treats every wedding as its own story. Wedding photography is my core focus: I aim to capture the atmosphere, emotion and small, unrepeatable moments that make each day unique. My approach is relaxed and people-led; I work to put couples and their families at ease so the photographs feel natural, not staged. My experience began with press photography at the Grantham Journal, progressing to full-time staff photographer at a young age and then to freelance work from 2014. That background — covering everything from royal visits to red-carpet events — taught me to remain calm under pressure, read a room quickly and deliver high-quality images on tight turnaround. Those skills transfer directly to weddings: timing, anticipation and attention to detail are essential when a moment lasts only a second. On the day I aim to be friendly, unobtrusive and adaptable. Many couples tell me they appreciated my outgoing but unobtrusive manner; I’ll quietly document the ceremony and candid interactions, then guide relaxed portraits that reflect how you really are together. I balance documentary-style capture with considered portraits so you get both the story of the day and timeless images to display. Based in Grantham, I cover weddings across the UK and enjoy working at venues large and small. While wedding photography is my specialism, my wider portfolio — including sports, community and corporate work — enhances my editorial instincts and eye for composition. I don’t try to shoehorn every couple into a single style; instead I listen to your priorities and tailor my coverage to suit the pace and personality of your celebration.
