Photokind (Mark Lavous) specialises in wedding photography in Ferndown and Bournemouth. A warm, documentary-led approach focused on love, laughter and beautifully natural images with clear, honest service.
Hello — I’m Mark, the photographer behind Photokind. With more than 25 years’ experience working across the South of England, I specialise in wedding photography and portraiture, but my principal focus is capturing the real moments of your wedding day. For me, photography is kindness: I care about creating beautiful images and a relaxed experience so that your memories feel as good as they look. Why choose me for your wedding? I bring a friendly, quietly observant style that celebrates the big moments and the small, intimate details. My aim is to document the laughter, tears, stolen glances and the energy of your day without imposing rigid poses or interrupting the flow. Many couples tell me they’re “not photogenic” — I’m told I have a knack for putting people at ease and helping them look and feel fabulous. How I work: I prefer to plan with you rather than dictate. Ahead of your wedding I’ll offer a pre-wedding consultation and, when helpful, a visit to your venue so we can map out the day and understand the light, timings and key moments you want preserved. On the day I’m steady, unobtrusive and focused on storytelling — blending candid reportage with considered portrait moments so you get a varied, meaningful collection of images. What you’ll receive: a carefully edited gallery of images that reflects your day, delivered in a straightforward, accessible way. I keep pricing transparent and fair, and I’m happy to discuss how we can tailor coverage to suit your needs and budget. Albums and other keepsakes are available if you’d like a physical storybook of the day. I’m based in Ferndown and work across Bournemouth and the surrounding area. Beyond weddings I also shoot portraiture, family sessions and pets, and I’m committed to helping the community through occasional complimentary portrait sessions and concessions for income-sensitive households. If you want a wedding photographer who values warmth, honesty and beautiful storytelling, let’s have a conversation. I’m always keen to hear your ideas and to shape a photography plan that feels right for you.
