I’m Jo Sweeney — a specialist wedding photographer based in Ewell who loves photographing real moments. My focus is simple: to capture the emotion, connection and small details that make your day uniquely yours. My aim is to tell the story of your wedding in a way that feels true to you — relaxed, warm and timeless. My approach is quietly documentary with a gentle editorial eye. I look for candid reactions, fleeting glances and the light that shapes each moment, stepping in only when a little guidance will help make a great portrait. On the day I’m calm and unobtrusive, helping nervous groups feel at ease, smoothing timings and creating space for natural interactions. I balance those spontaneous moments with a handful of considered portraits so you have both atmosphere and gorgeous, flattering images of the two of you. Working together starts with a conversation. I like to get to know you — how you met, what matters most about the day, and which people or moments you’re most excited about. Many couples choose a pre-wedding or engagement session to build confidence in front of the camera; these relaxed shoots are a lovely way to see how I work and to create meaningful images before the wedding. I also photograph proposals, offering discreet support and preparation to capture that intimate ‘yes’. Being based in Ewell means I photograph weddings in the local area and for couples who travel here to celebrate. I bring a calm, professional presence to busy days and deliver edited galleries that reflect the personality of each wedding — bright when it feels joyful, soft when it feels tender. While weddings are my main passion, I also take on portrait, family and maternity sessions between wedding seasons, bringing the same sensitivity to every shoot.
