Based in Dorking, Simon Pope (BeUnveiled) specialises in candid, documentary-style wedding photography across Surrey & Sussex. Honest, unobtrusive coverage capturing decisive moments and beautiful formal shots.
Hey — I’m Simon Pope and BeUnveiled is my full-time wedding photography practice based in Dorking. I specialise in documentary-style wedding photography: candid, decisive moments that tell the story of your day, combined with considered, beautiful formal portraits. If you want images that feel honest and timeless — not staged or over-directed — then that’s exactly what I aim to deliver. Why choose BeUnveiled? I bring decades of experience in press and editorial photography to weddings, so I know how to anticipate emotion and operate unobtrusively in busy, high-stakes situations. I cap bookings so I can give every couple my full attention, and I pride myself on blending into the background: you’ll hardly know I’m there until you see the images. My approach is professional but relaxed — I work with warmth and a sense of fun so even the most camera-shy guests feel at ease. How I work on the day: I usually arrive around two hours before the ceremony to capture preparation and the quiet, intimate moments that set the tone for the day. I work alone as a single photographer because I find that the least intrusive way to document a wedding; this also keeps the experience personal and consistent. You’re welcome to give me a short list of must-have posed shots (I usually recommend up to 10–12), but mostly I let the day unfold and record the moments you didn’t even know happened. I use professional Canon kit with dual-recording for reliability, and post-production is handled carefully to preserve the mood and emotion of each frame. Delivery and relationship: After the wedding I edit thoughtfully and deliver your images via a private client gallery and a high-res WeTransferPro link. I love seeing couples enjoying their photos and I’m always happy to guide you on prints, albums and sharing images. A small additional offering: I also run the ‘SP’ street photography course in London for very small groups — a chance to see how I approach people and light when I’m out shooting. This is a secondary activity and complements my main work as a wedding specialist. If you’re planning a wedding in Dorking, Surrey or nearby and want a photographer who values authenticity, calm professionalism and storytelling, I’d love to hear about your day and discuss how we might work together.
