Stephanie Mackrill is a Cowes wedding photographer offering relaxed, creative wedding and engagement photography across the Isle of Wight. Her reportage-led, lifestyle approach captures true emotion and beautiful light.
I love my job — and for me there is nothing more rewarding than recording a wedding day with sensitivity, style and a real eye for light. Based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, I specialise in wedding and engagement photography, delivering relaxed, creative imagery that reflects the personality and atmosphere of your day. With over 25 years’ experience in full-time professional photography — including commercial work and journalism — I bring a calm, confident approach to weddings. I have photographed hundreds of weddings over the past two decades and my background in press and commercial photography keeps my ideas fresh. That mix of experience means I know when to quietly document a fleeting moment, and when to step in and create a composed portrait that will become a lasting favourite. My style is a considered blend of reportage, contemporary and lifestyle photography. I aim to be unobtrusive so couples often say “we forgot you were there”; yet I’m always alert to light, expression and composition. Whether it’s a joyful laugh, a quiet glance, or the drama of evening light, I work to capture authentic moments that feel natural and beautifully lit. Working with me is straightforward and friendly. I enjoy getting to know couples beforehand so we can shape the day together — from timing and locations to the relaxed group shots you want. On the day I’m professional but informal: organised when needed, discreet at the ceremonies, and involved enough to ensure nothing important is missed. After the wedding I deliver images presented with care — digital files, prints and albums are all available if you’d like them. While my focus is weddings and engagements, I also bring experience across portrait, family, maternity, lifestyle, editorial and commercial work — which feeds into my wedding photography, especially in styling, lighting and storytelling. If you’re planning a wedding on the Isle of Wight or nearby and want photography that feels genuine, creative and timeless, I’d love to hear about your day. Get in touch to talk ideas, availability and how I can help preserve those moments you’ll treasure for years to come.
