Hi — I’m Laura, the photographer behind Colchester Wedding Photography. Twelve years after my own wedding I still remember how every small detail added to the story of our day, and that memory shapes the way I work. I specialise in wedding photography across Colchester and the surrounding Essex area, creating natural, emotive images that let you relive your day again and again. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I aim to blend into the background and shoot the moments as they happen, stepping in with gentle guidance only when it helps everyone feel comfortable. Whether it’s the quiet anticipation during preparations, the joy of the ceremony, or the energy of the first dance, I look for the real, unscripted moments that show how your day truly felt. Photography has been my passion since childhood — I grew up watching my grandfather tinker with film cameras — and I bring that same sense of care and curiosity to every wedding. I enjoy working with couples who want authentic images rather than overly staged scenes, but I’m always happy to create a few posed group or couple portraits when you want them. My style sits between documentary and timeless portraiture: candid storytelling with a polished, professional finish. I like to get to know the couples I work with. After you get in touch we’ll have a conversation about your plans, timings and what matters most to you. That helps me plan the day so we capture the highlights and the little details that mean the most.
