I’m Helen — a Christchurch-based wedding photographer who loves to tell stories through natural, documentary wedding photography. With a degree from The Arts University Bournemouth and more than a decade working professionally, I focus on capturing the real, unscripted moments that make each wedding unique: the stolen glances, the belly laughs, the tearful toasts and the carefully chosen details that bring your day to life. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I aim to blend in like a friend so you and your guests can be yourselves. That means I work in a reportage, candid style for most of the day, stepping in for a short, beautiful couples session — usually around 30 minutes before sunset or before the sit-down meal — to capture some quieter portraits without stealing you away from your celebration. My goal is to create images that make you smile every time you see them and that bring all the emotions of the day flooding back. I believe in getting to know the people I photograph. Before your wedding we’ll chat about your plans, your personalities and any special moments you want captured — and I offer pre-wedding shoots to help couples feel at ease in front of the camera. On the day you can expect calm, friendly guidance when needed and plenty of gentle encouragement for natural moments. I love detail shots, candid storytelling and a subtle sense of humour that shows who you really are. Based in Christchurch, I cover weddings across Dorset and Hampshire and I’m always happy to travel further afield. I’m passionate about creating tangible keepsakes from your day — from Fine Art albums handcrafted in the UK to framed wall art — because photographs are for living with, not just for storing on a hard drive. While wedding photography is my speciality, I also offer relaxed lifestyle family photography. Being a mum myself, I understand how precious everyday moments are and how quickly they pass.
