I’m Simon Cardwell — a Chingford-based wedding photographer who cares about one thing above all else: telling your story honestly. My work is built around a documentary approach that seeks out the unscripted, joyful moments that make each wedding unique. My style is simple: observe, anticipate and photograph. Most of the images are unposed; when formal photos are needed, I work quickly and efficiently so you can get back to your day. Whether it’s a barn, a stately home or a working men’s club, I adapt to the environment and find the moments that tell your story. I’ve been making wedding images since the mid-2000s and have worked across the UK and overseas — always looking for the genuine exchange rather than a staged shot. I’m a storyteller at heart. My path into photography was driven by a love of narrative — from nights watching Star Wars to discovering a Walker Evans photo book — and that sense of story underpins everything I do. I bring a relaxed, friendly presence to weddings, and I’m not afraid of a little adventure if it means getting the shot (yes, I’ve scaled ladders, clambered across roofs and even been hoisted in farm machinery to capture a moment).
