I’m Tony Hall, a wedding photographer based near Chesterfield in the heart of Derbyshire, and wedding photography is my specialism. From intimate registry ceremonies to full-day celebrations across the Peak District, Sheffield and beyond, I concentrate on telling the story of your day with natural, classic and documentary images that you’ll return to again and again. My approach is simple: people first. With a background in fashion, advertising and television stills, I learned early on that technical ability only goes so far — great wedding pictures are made with the eye, the heart and good people skills. I work quietly and unobtrusively so your guests can enjoy the day while I capture the smiles, the laughter, the tears and those small, unscripted moments that make each wedding unique. I often work with a second photographer/assistant so we can cover both the intimate details and the wider scene without interruption. What sets my wedding photography apart is a combination of instinctive reportage and calm direction. I trust my “Mk1 eyeball” to spot connections and opportunities as they happen, and I’ll step in with gentle, efficient direction when we need formal or group shots. My aim is to make sure nothing important is missed while keeping the day relaxed and enjoyable for you and your family. I also offer a complimentary engagement (pre-wedding) session so we can meet, relax together in front of the camera and try styles you might want on the day. It’s a great way to build trust, practice posing, and get images you can use for save-the-dates or invitations. After your wedding, I deliver a carefully curated online gallery so you and your family can relive the day, share images and select keepsakes. While weddings are my primary focus, I also photograph portraits and family sessions in a relaxed, informal style when required.
