Award-winning Canterbury wedding photographer specialising in documentary, street-influenced wedding photography. Olly blends into your day to capture honest, emotive, storytelling images.
I’m Olly Knight — a Canterbury-based wedding photographer whose focus is clear: documentary-led wedding photography that captures the atmosphere and emotion of your day without posing or fuss. Over the last decade I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings, developing a street-photography and photojournalist approach that lets real moments breathe. The result is a gallery of natural, emotive images that feel like the day again — not a staged re-enactment. Why choose me? My work is rooted in observation. I don’t ask people to “say cheese” or stop your celebrations for staged portraits. Instead I move around the room like a friendly guest with a camera, anticipating tiny gestures and big moments alike — the tear at the back of the aisle, the spontaneous bear hug after speeches, the kids who make the dancefloor come alive. That approach has been recognised industry-wide (including multiple Fearless awards and Highly Commended recognition at The Wedding Industry Awards) — but more important to me is that couples tell me the photos feel honest and personal. My process is uncomplicated and warm. We’ll start with a friendly conversation about your plans, personalities and the moments that matter to you. On the day I keep things relaxed and low‑intervention: I work unobtrusively during ceremony and reception, step in for short, gentle couple moments if you want them, and otherwise follow the flow so you can get on with celebrating. I’ll deliver a curated, storytelling gallery that reflects both the small details and the big emotions of the day. Although my primary focus is weddings across Canterbury, Kent and the UK, I also take on a small number of destination weddings each year and I’m comfortable documenting multi-day celebrations. I’m known for blending street-photography composition with reportage instincts — creating images that are both beautifully composed and remarkably true to the day. If you’re planning a wedding in Canterbury or elsewhere in the UK and want your day documented with warmth, humour and honesty, I’d love to hear about your plans. My aim is simple: capture your wedding as a celebration, not a photo shoot, and return images that transport you straight back to those moments.
