I’m Ashley Hampson — a Camborne-based wedding photographer who approaches each wedding as a visual story. After sixteen years working with couples across Cornwall and the south west, I’ve refined a style that favours natural light, calm observation and a quietly creative eye. I aim to capture the split-second moments that carry real emotion — the small, honest gestures and the atmosphere that make your day uniquely yours. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I work documentary-first: blending into the background so I can record candid reactions, laughter and those fleeting expressions that don’t happen on demand. When a moment calls for it I’ll gently step forward to create timeless portraits, always keeping things simple and enjoyable so you can actually be present with one another. I prefer to use natural light wherever possible — it helps me work quickly and creatively while keeping the focus on you. Cornwall’s dramatic coastline and wild landscapes have also shaped the way I see weddings. My landscape and documentary work informs the mood and atmosphere of the images I create, so whether we’re using a nearby cove for a relaxed portrait walk or letting the venue’s character shine, I’m attentive to light, weather and composition to create images with depth and atmosphere. For couples who want something extra, I’m a CAA-licensed drone operator and can add aerial photography or a short vertical film to your coverage. It’s a discreet way to introduce dramatic vantage points and context — especially at coastal venues — without changing the feel of the day. Working with me is conversational and straightforward.
