I’m Daniel Couch — a father, husband and Burnley-based wedding photographer who loves telling human stories through honest imagery. My approach is documentary and reportage-led: I look for the small, unscripted moments that matter — the laugh shared at the top table, the tear wiped away in a quiet corner, the chaotic joy on the dancefloor. I prefer minimal direction so your day feels natural; the photographs should read like the true memory of the day, not a staged production. My style has a consistent edit: slightly warm, muted colours with richer shadows and a mix of monochrome and colour. I actually shoot fully in black and white and then colourise selected frames, generally working to a 60/40 balance of colour to black and white. That combination helps me create a gallery with emotional range — timeless black-and-white portraits alongside intimate, softly toned colour moments. What sets me apart is the level of focus I give each couple. I don’t book 50+ weddings a year — that means your wedding gets my attention from our first meeting to the final edit. I insist on connecting with my clients beforehand so I understand the feel of your day, and on the wedding day I work quietly and unobtrusively to capture the story as it unfolds. I don’t offer posed, staged scenarios — I’ll of course take group photos where needed, but my priority is a genuine, emotional record of your celebration. Practicalities are simple and clear: I aim to deliver full galleries within a few weeks so you can relive your day without a long wait. Based in Padiham, Burnley, I photograph weddings across Lancashire and the surrounding regions, bringing a calm, attentive presence to every ceremony and reception. I also occasionally cover family sessions, corporate events and celebrations, but wedding photography remains my core passion and expertise.
