Ey up — I’m Ryan, the face behind Shutter Go Click, based in Burngreave and firmly obsessed with making art from love. I specialise in alternative wedding photography that prioritises emotion, atmosphere and creativity over stiff poses and tired backdrops. Why choose me? My work blends storytelling with playful, in-camera techniques — think prisms, double exposures and reflections — to create images that feel tactile, alive and unmistakably yours. I’m drawn to the fleeting, imperfect moments: the laugh you didn’t mean to capture, the squeeze of hands in a quiet corridor, the chaotic joy of confetti and family. Those are the bits that matter, and I compose them with an eye for symmetry, surrealism and soul. How I work with couples is simple and human. We’ll grab a brew or jump on a Google Meet to chat through your plans, your vibe and anything weird and wonderful you want in your photos. On the day I’m relaxed, unobtrusive and often found making people laugh or hiding in bushes with a prism — all in service of real connection. I believe the best photos happen when you’re being yourselves, so I encourage play, spontaneity and a little bit of controlled chaos. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings from the streets of Sheffield to the coasts of California and the chateaux of France, but Burngreave will always be home. My approach is built on experience, a love of storytelling and an insistence on authenticity. Couples often tell me they felt instantly at ease — that’s what I aim for: a friendly, trustworthy presence that gets out of the way of the day while still crafting striking, cinematic photos.
