I’m Shane from Atken Photography — a wedding specialist based in Bridlington, Yorkshire. I believe the best wedding photos come from real connections, not stiff poses. My focus is capturing the emotion, laughter and unscripted moments that make your day uniquely yours. Let your story unfold. My style leans toward documentary-led wedding photography with a creative eye: candid moments, heartfelt reactions and those little details you’d otherwise miss. I aim to be unobtrusive where the day needs it and gently involved when a moment benefits from a nudge. Many couples enjoy a pre-wedding (engagement) shoot to ease any camera nerves and get to know how I work; it’s a relaxed catch-up and a great way to build trust so you feel like you’re hanging out with a mate who happens to have a camera. For those further afield, I’m happy to chat over FaceTime, Zoom or a good old-fashioned coffee. I travel across Yorkshire, the UK and for destination weddings when asked — wherever the story takes me, I’ll go. Every image is professionally retouched and presented so your photos look and feel exactly as they should. Beyond the day itself I can help craft your memories into beautiful fine art albums, parent albums, framed prints or other keepsakes should you wish. While weddings are my primary passion and expertise, Atken Photography also offers complementary services including engagement shoots and wedding videography. These are positioned to support and enhance your wedding photography rather than replace the core storytelling images I create.
