I’m Rebecca (Rj) — a wedding specialist based in Braintree, Essex, and a storyteller who lives for the real moments, the thoughtful details and the dramatic portrait that stops time. My approach to wedding photography is firmly rooted in modern reportage: I work quietly in the background to capture the day as it unfolds, recording emotion, décor and candid interactions so your wedding storyline reads naturally when you look back. For couples who want more than posed snapshots, I combine documentary and candid coverage with gently directed, editorial bridal and couples portraits. I love dramatic natural light and carefully used flash; I’m drawn to neutral backgrounds and a palette that complements modern home décor. You’ll see true colour work alongside my signature black & white images — I still adore the timeless, raw feeling that monochrome brings and the way it sits beautifully in any room. From our first enquiry to the moment your private gallery lands in your inbox, my process is warm, personal and organised. I’ll listen to your vision, suggest timings and locations that suit your style, and be your biggest hype girl on the day so you feel comfortable and incredible. For couples booking full coverage I provide a password-protected web gallery for viewing and downloading, and I personally edit every image so your story is consistent and true to the moment. I also design beautiful, heirloom albums and wall art — museum-grade canvases, sleek acrylics and framed prints — because photographs deserve to be seen, not just stored on phones. My album design journey is collaborative: once you’ve selected favourites, I carefully craft a printed story you’ll want to hold and pass on. I’ve built close working relationships with venues such as Friern Manor and partner regularly with trusted suppliers to ensure your day runs smoothly. In 2024 I expanded the R J Photography team with Paul Hinwood, an associate who captures weddings in my style; I still edit every photo personally so the final collection feels like mine. While weddings are my primary focus, I do offer a limited number of studio family and newborn sessions mainly for returning clients.
