I’m David Causon — a Birmingham wedding photographer who believes the best wedding photos are the ones that feel effortless and true. Since qualifying in photography and working professionally from 2006, I’ve refined a documentary, reportage-led approach that prioritises real moments over posed performance. My goal is to quietly tell the story of your day: the small glances, belly laughs, and unscripted moments that together create the memory of the whole celebration. That relaxed atmosphere means I can capture authentic emotion without being intrusive — most of my favourite images happen when people forget the camera is there. Black-and-white photography is a strong passion of mine. Stripping away colour can reveal the raw emotion and composition of an image, and I take care in the edit to ensure each monochrome frame has depth, contrast and clarity. Every image I deliver is carefully edited to balance modern, fresh tones with a classic, enduring look so your photos remain as beautiful decades from now as they do today. How I work: from our initial chat — whether in person or over a video call — I listen to what matters to you and tailor my approach to the flow of your day. On the wedding day I stay unobtrusive, anticipate key moments, and move seamlessly between documentary coverage and the short portrait session that creates those standout couple shots.
