I’m Mike — a Bideford-based wedding photographer who’s been turning real wedding days into honest, emotional photographs for over 20 years. Based on the North Devon coast, I specialise in wedding photography and bring a documentary-editorial approach that favours people and moments over stiff poses or endless shot lists. Why choose me? I spend most of the day blending into the background — watching for the small, unscripted moments that make your wedding unique — and stepping in only when a little direction will help create a beautiful portrait. My approach is relaxed and friendly. Having worked as a butler and in hospitality, I’ve learned to put people at ease quickly — which helps even camera-shy couples feel natural in front of the lens. I’m often described as a friend with a camera: approachable, unobtrusive and focused on making your guests feel comfortable so the photos capture genuine emotion. I love shooting weddings across North Devon, Cornwall and the UK, and I genuinely enjoy the variety each day brings. From seaside ceremonies at places like Tunnels Beaches and Watermouth Cove to barn celebrations and intimate elopements, I look for interactions and atmosphere that tell your story. Rather than turning your wedding into a photoshoot, I aim to make the photos remind you how the day felt — the laughter, the hugs and the tiny, unexpected moments. I care about the finished product too. My processing is purposeful and understated: I edit to enhance mood and clarity, never to over-manipulate.
