I’m Dan — a professional people-watcher turned wedding photographer based in Bedlington, close to Morpeth in the North East. For over a decade I’ve been photographing weddings with a simple aim: to capture how your day genuinely felt. I’m drawn to real emotion and unscripted moments, so my work favours a natural, fun and creative storytelling style rather than stiff, posed shots. Couples often tell me I’m “not just a photographer” — and that’s intentional. On the day I become a calm, practical presence: quietly directing where useful, stepping in to sort little dramas, and generally doing whatever it takes to keep people relaxed and smiling. Whether it’s smoothing a veil, finding a perfect light, or gently nudging a group into a natural formation, my priority is that you enjoy your day and your photos reflect that enjoyment. My approach is relaxed and conversational. I get to know you in advance so I can blend in on the day, anticipate moments and respond quickly to genuine interactions. I photograph weddings with an eye for atmosphere — candid laughter, small gestures, and those spontaneous moments that tell the real story of your celebration. Engagement sessions are a great complement to this approach: they help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and give us a chance to build a rapport before the big day. Working across the North East, I’m familiar with local venues and the kinds of light and spaces they offer, but I always take time to learn what makes each wedding unique.
