I’m Helen, an Ashford-based Kent wedding photographer. I specialise in natural, documentary-style wedding and engagement photography, capturing honest moments so you can enjoy your day.
Hi, I’m Helen — a Kent wedding photographer based on a small farm near Ashford. For more than a decade I’ve specialised in documentary-style wedding photography, concentrating on the real moments, emotions and small details that make each day unique. My aim is simple: to record your wedding in a way that lets you enjoy it, safe in the knowledge that the moments you feel — and the ones you don’t notice — are being captured. My approach is unobtrusive and relaxed. I work as an observer, blending into the background to catch laughter, stolen glances and the natural rhythm of your day. I value honest, emotive imagery over staged perfection, and I’ll always look for the light, the gestures and the unexpected that tell your story. Over the years I’ve photographed a wide range of venues across Kent and beyond — from country churches and castle grounds to barns and marquee receptions — which means I know how to adapt while keeping the focus on people and feeling. Working with me is collaborative and straightforward. I like to get to know my couples before the big day so everyone feels relaxed and confident in front of the camera; I often recommend a pre-wedding or engagement shoot because it really helps you feel at ease on the day. On the wedding morning I’ll be calm and professional, guiding group shots efficiently and creating brief portrait moments so you’re not away from your guests for long. After the wedding I take care over the editing and present your collection thoughtfully — a password-protected online gallery and a curated slideshow are part of the experience I provide, and I’m happy to discuss albums and keepsakes that match your style. Although weddings are my primary focus, I also enjoy photographing portraits and the occasional dog or animal project — living on a farm gives me the freedom to shoot outside in fields and woodlands as well as in my studio. If you’re planning a wedding near Ashford or anywhere in Kent and want natural, creative wedding photography that tells the story of your day, I’d love to hear from you and find out what matters most to you.
