Hi, I’m Chris Currie — a wedding photographer based in Altrincham, serving South Manchester and Cheshire. I love photography and I love meeting new people; being part of someone’s wedding day is a privilege I never take for granted. My approach is rooted in documentary storytelling: I look for the fleeting, unscripted moments that make a wedding unique and meaningful, then pair those candid captures with a touch of fine-art portraiture to create images you’ll be proud to hang on your wall. My Fine Art background means I’m unabashedly into making ‘arty-farty’ portraits when the moment calls for it. But mostly I’m after honesty — the quiet glances, the laughter between friends, the spontaneous celebrations. I don’t disappear to the edges of the day; I get involved when appropriate, blending energy and sensitivity so you feel relaxed in front of the camera. That mix helps me capture both the story of your wedding day and the striking portraits you’ll cherish. Working with me is straightforward and friendly. I prefer to start with a conversation — in person or on a call — so I can understand what matters to you. On the day I aim to be unobtrusive during the moments that need to breathe, and gently direct when we want something a bit more stylised. My priority is to make the experience enjoyable and calm, so even if you’re not a fan of having your picture taken, you’ll leave feeling comfortable and at ease. I specialise in full-day documentary wedding photography, focusing on natural light, genuine emotion and tasteful composition. The result is a cohesive gallery of wedding photos that tell the whole story — from morning preparations through to the evening party — alongside fine-art bridal and couple portraits that stand out. While weddings are my main focus, I also shoot family and portrait sessions when I’m not photographing celebrations.
