Hi — I’m Matt, an award-winning Alfreton wedding photographer with a passion for capturing the real moments that make a wedding day unforgettable. Since 2017 I’ve photographed over 150 weddings, and I bring that experience to every ceremony I shoot. My approach is simple: candid, natural and fun. I prefer to document the day as it unfolds rather than stage it, finding the small, intimate and often hilarious moments that tell your story in a way posed shots never can. I only shoot 20 weddings a year because quality matters. Limiting bookings lets me offer a consistently high level of attention from planning through to delivery. From our first conversation I focus on building a relaxed connection so you can be yourselves around me — I’m not the awkward photographer who lurks in the shadows. I love being part of the action and you’ll often find me on the dance floor by the end of the night, capturing the energy and joy that make your day unique. Working across Alfreton, Chesterfield and the Peak District, I’m familiar with the region’s venues and light — whether we’re using moorland panoramas or elegant venue interiors, I look for compositions that blend natural atmosphere with authentic emotion. Group shots are handled efficiently and cheerfully, but my priority is always the in-between moments: a whispered joke, a parent’s glance, a nervous smile. Those are the images couples return to again and again. My process is collaborative and straightforward. We’ll talk through the timeline, your must-have shots and any special moments or family dynamics I should know about. On the day I work unobtrusively but with intention, stepping in for key portraits and then stepping back to let the day breathe. After the wedding I carefully edit your images to reflect the mood and colours of the day, delivering professional wedding photos you’ll be proud to share and display.
