I’m Kathryn — a documentary wedding photographer based in Accrington, Lancashire, specialising in natural, modern and informal wedding photography across the North West and the Lake District. My work is built around telling the story of your day as it happens: the quiet, tender moments, the unexpected laughs and the real emotions that make your wedding uniquely yours. Why choose me? I cap the number of weddings I accept each year to ensure every couple gets my full attention, and that shows in the care I take from first meeting to final gallery. I’ve photographed celebrations in intimate village churches, country houses and dramatic Lake District venues, so I know how to read light and atmosphere to create images that feel timeless and true to you. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I aim to blend in with your guests — mingling, anticipating moments and capturing them with a documentary eye — while making sure we still get those important family portraits and a few romantic portraits of the two of you. I won’t keep you away from your guests and your canapés for too long; the portraits I create are relaxed, natural and designed to feel like you. How I work with couples: most couples get to know me through the website and a chat, and many choose an engagement session as an optional extra. Engagement shoots are perfect for anyone who feels camera shy — they’re a fun, low-pressure way to get comfortable with being photographed so you can relax on the big day. On the wedding day itself I’m organised, calm and adaptable: I capture the flow of the day, step in for key moments and step back to let life happen naturally. Alongside weddings I also shoot portrait and family sessions on an occasional basis, but weddings remain my primary focus — the place where my documentary style and love for storytelling truly shine.
